Challenge
Create an exciting shopping experience in the Pet Food Aisle for Walmart shoppers in Spring to get excited to treat their pets and show how much they care.

Insight
While wet pet food and treats are usually impulse purchases, Walmart is not seen as a pet-centered retailer. The Pet Aisle is out of the way and feels uninviting. Pet owners think of pet specialty stores as their place to go when they want to spoil and pamper their pets.

Idea
Bring Hamlet to life (Purina's Beggin' Strip mascot) and use the double entendre "fling" to tempt Walmart shoppers with some extra fun for their pup and themselves.

How it works
Engaged Walmart shoppers with a fun Walmart AR mobile app experience created only for Pet Park (Walmart/Purina pet portal on walmart.com). Hamlet is brought to life for the first time when the Shopper scans the product, whether it's looking on walmart.com or in the Pet Aisle at Walmart stores. Hamlet tries to "catch" the Beggin' Strips that the Shopper "flings" out as a reward once he does a trick. Shopper can then share out on social media, a picture they actually take with Hamlet himself as well as learn more about Purina treats on Pet Park as they spread the word about the fun AR app.
